Domestic – Ranelagh | Wood Floor Restoration
Overview
In June 2020, we were approached by an interior designer to restore the original hardwood floors in an extensive property in the Dublin suburb of Ranelagh. The project took several days and consisted of a full inspection, dust-free sanding, coating and sealing with a protective urethane coat.
The Problem
Having recently purchased a property in Ranelagh, Dublin, and started their renovations, a young family were shocked to find the original hardwood floor beneath an old tattered carpet. However, the floor, as great as the discovery was, needed extensive refurbishment to bring it back to its original best.
The Solution
After consultation with the young couple and their interior designer, SMC Group drew up a plan to provide a clean, safe, eco-friendly and time-sensitive solution to their problem. We sent one of our wood care and restoration experts to inspect the floors and draw up a plan, which included a specialist dust-free sanding, a deep cleaning, a new sealing coat and a full maintenance and care plan to help to keep it clean for years to come.
Why is our method effective?
We used eco-friendly products that don’t cause any damage to the property and special preservation techniques to not only provide a clean, low-risk restoration but using expert techniques that minimise water usage and dust contamination. As a result, the floor was completely restored with no disturbance to the family or their home and minimal impact on the environment.
