Domestic – South Dublin | Natural Stone Carpet Cleaning
Overview
In November 2021, we were contacted about an expansive property in one of Dublin’s most prestigious south Dublin neighbourhooods. The property required both internal and external natural stone cleaning and restoration. SMC Group provided a full project plan, including execution and post-works maintenance care solutions.
The Problem
The Natural Stone Carpet, both interior and exterior were exposed to damage, dirt and grime over a long period of time. Heavy rain and resulting standing water, mean the exterior natural stone carpet was covered in a film of algae and dirt. The interior natural stone carpet had become dirty and vulnerable to further dirt and damage due to a lack of sealing and protection.
The Solution
After consultation with the homeowner, SMC Group drew up a plan to provide a clean, safe, eco-friendly and time-sensitive solution to their problem. We sent one of our natural stone carpet care specialists to inspect the natural stone carpet and draw up a plan, which included a vigorous deep cleaning with specialist eco-friendly products, a new sealing coat and a full post-works maintenance and care plan to help to keep it clean and protected for years to come.

We used eco-friendly products that don’t cause any damage to the property and special preservation techniques to not only provide a clean, low-risk restoration but using expert techniques that minimise water usage and dust contamination. As a result, the natural stone carpet was completely restored with no disturbance to the family or their home and minimal impact on the environment.
